How to Prepare Your Lawn for Winter

There is one thing I love more than a bathroom renovation, and that is a lawn renovation!

Today I have Aaron from Green Envy to discuss what we have to do to maintain our lawns as we head into winter.

KEY POINTS:

1. Use a wetting agent. In order for your lawn to absorb the nutrients it needs to grow, Aaron recommends using a wetting agent. Wetting agents are great to draw moisture and fertiliser into the ground.
2. Your lawn needs food for energy too! When choosing a fertiliser, be careful of anything too high in nitrogen or salt because this can burn your lawn. What you need to look for is something that will feed the root system, and get some lateral growth out of it.
3. It’s time to dethatch. If your grass is thick and bushy, dethatch the top layer of your grass and give it loads of water to promote growth.
