Occasionally, we come across a furniture piece with beautiful wood details that we can’t bear to cover with paint. This mid-century modern style sideboard with tambour doors is one of those pieces. Since sideboard is used in the kids’ playroom and the owner wanted to give the piece a fresh, fun look, while preserving those classic mid-century details.
We chose to apply a Smooth Finish to keep things clean and modern. We started two coats of Classic Navy, allowing the paint to dry between coats then gently sanding with a Jolie Sanding Pad to remove any brushstrokes. We then applied two thin coats of Jolie Finishing Wax in Clear using a Jolie Wax Brush and a lint free cloth to remove the excess.
