Hey Guys, I’m back with the third and final part of my deck transformation using Trex wood-composite decking!
Last week, we had the team from J Clarke Constructions lay down the gorgeous Trex composite decking boards using the incredible Hideaway Hidden Fastening System.
Flawless result
The hidden deck fastening system installs between the Trex decking boards, fastening them to the joists with no visible deck screw heads on the surface.
This precision also creates perfectly consistent spacing between the boards for a flawless look across the entire deck.
Trex Pro Plug System
In some instances, you may need edging boards that require unattractive screws but Trex has you covered with their Pro Plug System for completely hidden fixing.
Made from the Trex product, it seamlessly blends with the Trex board to ensure they are totally concealed – it’s amazing!
The finish and how to care for it
With the deck finished, I can confirm the owners of this home are over the moon with the texture, colour and width of the boards. Not only does it look sensational, they are also thrilled about the concept of 25 years of minimal maintenance – no sanding, oiling, staining, or scrubbing back!
All that’s left to do is give the boards a light brush with a soft-brittle brush to remove dust and leaves – and you can give the surface a light clean with soapy water when the kids get them a little messy. It’s that easy!
Time to Style
Now that the deck is laid and functional, we need to create the perfect entertaining area with gorgeous styling that is still practical for an outdoor space.
To pair with the stunning grey Island Mist colour, I have brought in plenty of lush greenery, a divine concrete table and chair setting, and finished with art and accessories to complete the look. It makes you feel like entertaining doesn’t it?!
Function first
I am over the moon with the results – it’s stylish, safe and practical – you know my motto is style is nothing without function! And this deck is ready for family fun season after season!
The owners now have an outdoor area that really does function as an extra entertaining space and that will withstand the harsh Australian climate.
